So What did Winnipeg Willow Predict this February 2nd?
If you were not able to join us at the Mountain Equipment Co-op on Saturday, February 2nd, or missed all the media stories, Miss Willow did not see her shadow. As folklore would say: if a woodchuck doesn’t see her shadow, this means spring is on her way. Boy, could we use it right now. In winterpeg, it has been cold. Really cold. Willow did not want to step one foot out the door Saturday morning. We had a great time at MEC, with kids crafts (all groundhog related) and Calen our non-releasable Kestrel as another guest for the public. That evening we also organized a “Wild” Bud, Spud, and Steak Fundraising Dinner to help support the organization. The evening celebration was a great hit, and we had wonderful silent auction prizes. A huge Thank you to Melanie for organizing and collecting all the prizes. Thank you to all who attended the event and supported PWRC.
Stay tuned for the next fundraising event.
