Snowy Owl

So far, PWRC’s  animal case log for 2012 has been quiet.  We’ve seen a muskrat, a rock dove, a grey squirrel, a merlin, and a snowy owl.  The Snowy Owl was brought in from Souris, Manitoba by Manitoba Conservation. This first year male owl was probably hit by a car and was found sitting in a field for a couple of days.    We found that he has a fractured left wing at the elbow and was very skinny.  Unfortunately, this type of injury is not releasable but we’re trying to see if they may need him in a breeding facility.
