Save your Pumpkin Seeds

Save your Pumpkin Seeds

Here at PWRC, we like to save our pumpkin and squash seeds for our wildlife critters.  Drying them allows us to store for long periods of time and we can feed our spring patients a variety of foods.  Dried seeds can be dropped off at Wildbirds Unlimited Store, 45-11 Reenders Dr. or call 204-510-1855 for closer drop off or pick up.  It’s so simple. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees, place seeds on a cookie sheet and cook for 20 mins.  Do not add any salt or oil. These extras can cause illness with our patients.  Don’t worry about cleaning all the pumpkin goo away, it will cook and  become an extra special treat for our squirrels.

Have a Happy Halloween.

Thanks from your Nutty Squirrels.
