Adopted Goldfinches

Well, we couldn’t ask for a better reunion. The yard has approximately 50 goldfinches (including 10+ fledglings) and a perfect place to release. The oldest fledgling couldn’t wait to leave the cage and quickly found a new friend. They spoke for a few minutes and decided they needed to play in the water and take a bath. The littlest one, chirped and chirped and chirped until adoptive parents came by. The little fledgling jumped out of our cage and the adults had a little conversation. We think they were asking him why he was hanging around people. After the short conversation, they all flew to the top of the garage, where they had more conversations and introductions. The homeowner will keep an eye out for our little guy to make sure he’s getting enough to eat. Cross our fingers, I think we found them a family.
